Soup, ragout, one-pot meal: what is the difference?

A soup generally contains more liquid, a ragout is a thicker, mostly sauce-based dish, and a one-pot meal is a complete dish in which the main ingredients are cooked together. All three fit well with multi-portion cooking if the cooling and storage are safe.
